Silver

Silver is seeking a new, forever home, as his owner is moving into a retirement community in Florida, and won’t be able to take them. Silver and AJ are hoping to find a home together.

Please contact Linda Swoboda at mrs_boda@sbcglobal.net

Silver is the baby of my brood. His birthday is Oct. 1, 2009. He’s the cousin and companion of AJ Swoboda. He is male, grey DSH and weighs 11 ½ pounds. He grew up in a multiple cat household as an ‘inside only’ kitty.

He loves attention and is very playful – he’s just not a real lap kitty. Too much teasing from one of his siblings as he was growing up has put him on guard somewhat. AJ is bigger and sometimes he gets Silver in a hold, but overall, they’re playmates. Silver can get a little carried away playing and go to nip, but he’s never bitten anyone. If there is any way of keeping AJ and Silver together, that would be ideal for them.

Silver eats a tsp. of wet food in the AM so that he’s joining the others, but he really only sucks the liquid from the food. He eats dry food (Royal Canin for finicky cats) throughout the day and sometimes has a small handful of kitty cookies. I don’t overdue the cookies or the wet food because Silver has a tendency to throw up because he eats so fast.

Silver loves to chase the laser, flying toys and his little cat nip mice. Sometimes, he even fetches. He’s very inquisitive once he’s over his initial shyness.

Answers to intake questions not previously answered above.

Silver has been tested and is not FIV positive.

Silver had his annual vet visit last month (Dundee Animal Hospital) and is in perfect health. He got his updated rabies shot then, so he is current. I have all Silver’s medical records and rabies certifications for previous years.

Silver always uses the litter box and there are no issues with this.

Silver has never been exposed to children or dogs, so I cannot comment on that. He did, however, grow up in a multiple cat environment and he handles that fine. He may need some introduction time to new cats but overall, he’s very friendly.

Silver is not ‘declawed’. He lets me trim his nails without a problem. He was neutered at about 6 months old at Dundee Animal Hospital.
